Cha Tae-hyun Reveals Genuine Concern for Kim Jong-kook's Marriage: 'He'll Never Get Married!'
Actor Cha Tae-hyun shared his sincere worries about his close friend Kim Jong-kook's surprise marriage announcement.
On the SBS entertainment show 'My Little Old Boy' (Mi Woo Sae), which aired on the 14th, Cha Tae-hyun appeared and disclosed behind-the-scenes stories regarding Kim Jong-kook's wedding.
Kim Jong-kook had previously surprised fans and the cast of 'Running Man' with his marriage announcement just two weeks before the ceremony. He officially tied the knot with a non-celebrity bride on the 5th of this month in Seoul.
Cha Tae-hyun mentioned that he found out about Kim Jong-kook's marriage through a phone call, admitting he learned about it rather late. He recalled, "As Jong-kook was going to film that morning, he asked in our group chat, 'Is anyone awake?' Since I was awake, he called me via video call and asked if I was available, mentioning the date."
He continued, "I figured it out right then and asked, 'Are you getting married?' I didn't know he was dating, but I was more happy about the fact that he was getting married rather than feeling any disappointment."
However, Cha Tae-hyun confessed that as a friend, he was genuinely concerned that Kim Jong-kook's on-screen persona might prevent him from getting married. He stated, "Seeing him on 'Mi Woo Sae,' I often called him saying, 'You really can't be like this,' and even drunk, I called Jong-kook's mother, complaining, 'He can't be like this, he'll never get married!'"
Despite his initial worries, Cha Tae-hyun concluded by expressing his unwavering friendship, saying, "It wasn't important who he was marrying. As a friend, my sole feeling was congratulating him on his marriage."
Cha Tae-hyun debuted in the 1997 film 'Hallelujah,' establishing himself as an actor. He starred in numerous successful films such as 'My Sassy Girl,' 'Dasepo Nareugi,' 'Scandal Makers,' and 'Miss Granny,' earning him the title 'Master of Romantic Comedy.' Furthermore, his portrayal of relatable characters in the 'Along with the Gods' film series has continued to garner him widespread affection from the public.
