Actor Kim Taek Joins SBS's 'Passionate Basketball Team' (Yeolhyeol Nonggudan): Former Player Promises On-Court Excitement

Former professional basketball player turned actor, Kim Taek, is set to join the cast of SBS's new variety show, 'Passionate Basketball Team: Rising Eagles.'

The program, scheduled to premiere in November, will feature celebrities and sports stars forming a team to showcase their passion and sweat on the basketball court. Legendary player Seo Jang-hoon will take on the role of coach, leading the celebrity team in an international friendly match against a Philippine celebrity basketball team.

Having played basketball during his high school years, Kim Taek is expected to bring a strong presence to the court with his solid fundamentals and excellent physical attributes. His dedication, perseverance, teamwork, and competitive spirit are anticipated to contribute to a dramatic narrative beyond just the game.

Kim Taek expressed his enthusiasm through his agency, stating, "I feel it is very meaningful to be able to join the team. Kim Taek made his acting debut in the historical drama 'The King's Affection,' leaving a strong impression with his natural acting skills despite it being his first sa-geuk. He later portrayed basketball players in the film 'Rebound' and the drama 'Coach Maeng's Commenters,' authentically capturing the energy of youth. His athletic background provides a unique depth to his portrayal of such roles.
