Park Chan-wook's highly anticipated new film, 'Fillet of a Fish,' set to premiere on October 24th, is generating excitement with the promise of unique entertainment driven by its diverse cast of characters.

The movie tells the realistic story of Mansu (played by Lee Byung-hun), an ordinary office worker whose life was once fulfilling, as he plunges into a fierce battle for re-employment after an unexpected layoff, all in an effort to protect his family and home.

During his struggle, Mansu encounters Seonchul (played by Park Hee-soon), the successful section chief at a paper company thriving amidst economic recession. Seonchul's seemingly perfect life, often showcased on social media, sparks both admiration and envy in Mansu. Behind his rugged, macho exterior, Seonchul harbors a sensitive side, adding a layer of urgency to the narrative. Director Park Chan-wook noted, "Seonchul is someone who embodies the rough edges that Mansu keeps hidden."

Mansu also crosses paths with potential rivals in the same industry. Beommo (played by Lee Sung-min), a veteran who has dedicated his life to the paper industry, continues his prolonged job search with the sole aim of returning to his field, eventually becoming entangled with Mansu. Meanwhile, Sijo (played by Cha Seung-won), who now manages a shoe store after being laid off from a paper factory, finds common ground with Mansu over their shared experience of unemployment, creating a palpable tension.

Director Park described Beommo as "an analog person who enjoys old music," and Sijo as "someone who shows the softer side of Mansu." The synergy created by these distinct characters, each facing their own challenges, is expected to deliver an unprecedented cinematic experience.

Lee Byung-hun takes on the role of 'Mansu,' portraying the struggles of an average family man with compelling realism. His nuanced performance is highly anticipated by fans eager to see his portrayal of deep inner turmoil. His upcoming project is generating significant buzz.
