Kang Dong-won's one-person agency, AA Group, is currently embroiled in controversy over allegedly operating without proper registration as a cultural and artistic planning business. The agency has since stated that they are actively proceeding with the registration process immediately after becoming aware of the issue.

A representative from AA Group confirmed to OSEN, "We became aware of the unregistered business matter last week and on the very same day, we initiated the educational program and registration procedures." Reports had surfaced earlier, citing that celebrities like singer Song Ga-in and Kim Wan-sun were also operating their agencies without completing the required registration.

Kang Dong-won established AA Group with CEO Seol Hyeon-jeong in 2023 after his exclusive contract with YG Entertainment concluded. However, the agency had been operating without registering as a cultural and artistic planning business, which is mandated by law for entities or individuals exceeding one employee involved in artist management.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has announced a grace period for unregistered cultural and artistic planning businesses until December 31st, encouraging self-regulation. This initiative aims to foster a transparent and legal environment for artists and the cultural industry.

Kang Dong-won, a highly respected actor in South Korea, made his acting debut in 2004 and has since starred in numerous critically acclaimed films and dramas. He is also known for his distinctive fashion sense and philanthropic activities. His commitment to his craft continues to be a source of inspiration for many in the industry.
