Actress Kim Jung-nan Recalls Tough Beginnings: 'Walked Because I Had No Bus Fare'

Actress Kim Jung-nan has openly shared her past struggles as she embarked on her acting journey.

In a YouTube video posted on the channel 'Kim Jung-nan' on the 17th, guest Kim Tae-woo joined her to offer heartfelt advice to those contemplating their career paths.

Kim Jung-nan empathized with the guests, stating, "My beginning was not smooth either. It was so difficult. There were so many moments I wanted to quit."

She reminisced, "When I was in my 20s, I used to walk because I didn't even have bus fare. I was struggling, had no money, and wondered if this was the right path. I often thought, 'This might not be my calling.'"

However, she added, "Looking back, I realized this is what I'm best at. That's how those difficulties were overcome by my passion." She advised, "It's true that overcoming hardships to reach the finish line is incredibly difficult. But if you have the mindset of 'I will go, I will see it through' despite the difficulty, then you must pursue it."

Kim Tae-woo also shared his perspective: "My belief as an actor is that you gain as much as you strive for. I believe I lack talent, looks, and even pronunciation. But because I truly wanted it, I worked hard to get here. I think one should reflect on the effort they are putting in to become an actor."

He further emphasized, "Do you work hard? I tell juniors not to just 'work hard.' There are so many people who do that. To be truly exceptional, you must be willing to risk everything. Reflect on two things: Why did I want to become an actor? What kind of actor do I want to be? These thoughts often bring clarity. Your current actions, more than anxiety, will shape your future."
