The upcoming movie 'Boss', set to release on October 3rd, has successfully completed its official events at the 30th Busan International Film Festival, heightening anticipation for its release.

'Boss' is a comedy action film depicting the desperate rivalry of gang members vying for the next boss position, and it was officially invited to the 'Korean Cinema Today-Special Premiere' section of the festival. Following the opening, an Open Talk and a GV (Guest Visit) session brought together director Ra Hee-chan and lead actors Jo Woo-jin, Park Ji-hwan, Lee Kyu-hyung, and Hwang Woo-seul-hye, who engaged in sincere and humorous conversations with the audience.

Director Ra Hee-chan shared behind-the-scenes stories, mentioning that the film was built upon the continuous creative ideas of the cast and crew. Jo Woo-jin, who plays 'Sun-tae', a character who dreams of conquering the nation with his Chinese restaurant's culinary skills rather than becoming a boss, expressed his hope that the movie would evoke fond memories for the audience and aimed to maximize the film's unique retro charm. Park Ji-hwan, portraying 'Pan-ho', a character driven by ambition to become the boss, revealed that he spontaneously improvised a dance scene to express his character's inner explosion of desire at that moment.

Hwang Woo-seul-hye recalled enjoying the filming process by trusting and collaborating with the director and fellow actors. Lee Kyu-hyung explained his approach to playing 'Tae-gyu', an undercover police officer, emphasizing that comedy often arises when the actor plays a serious situation with utmost sincerity. He even recreated a signature pose, bringing laughter to the venue. Jo Woo-jin also highlighted the symbolic use of props like gas canisters and work gloves to enhance character nuances, and mentioned using books as props in later action sequences added a unique layer of entertainment.

After generating significant buzz with its Open Talk and GV at the Busan International Film Festival, 'Boss' is scheduled to meet audiences in theaters on October 3rd.

Jo Woo-jin has established himself as a reliable actor in Chungmuro through his distinctive performances in numerous hit films such as 'Extreme Job' and 'Escape from Mogadishu'. Park Ji-hwan gained widespread popularity and left a strong impression in the 'The Roundup' film series, leveraging his solid acting foundation built on the theater stage. Lee Kyu-hyung is recognized for his robust acting skills and wide range, having proven his talent in dramas like 'Stranger' and 'Prison Playbook'. Hwang Woo-seul-hye is loved for her unique charming and comedic acting, actively participating in various projects.
