Lee Su-geun's Wife Park Ji-yeon Shares Update After Kidney Transplant: "Recovering Well, Grateful"
Park Ji-yeon, wife of comedian Lee Su-geun, has shared a positive update following her kidney transplant surgery, expressing her gratitude.
Through her personal channel, Park Ji-yeon posted a message titled "One Month Post-Transplant, 10 Minutes of Happiness," accompanied by photos. The images show her out and about with a new handbag. She described the outing, stating, "Since I can't stay in crowded places for too long yet, I dashed out with my new bag that had caught my eye, but it was truly a happy outing, even if it was less than 10 minutes."
She further added, "I couldn't tell them in advance because I didn't know how I'd feel, but they cried the moment they saw me in front of the store. My husband must have felt a bit awkward seeing the three of us crying together? Most importantly, thanks to the support of so many people, I am recovering well. Thank you from the bottom of my heart," expressing her appreciation to friends and fans who worried about her.
The released photos also feature Lee Su-geun wearing a mask, drawing attention. One month after surgery, Lee Su-geun appeared to have a more relaxed expression.
Park Ji-yeon's kidney function was damaged due to complications from pre-eclampsia during her second pregnancy, leading to over a decade of dialysis treatment. Although she received a kidney transplant from her father, it did not take well. In August, she underwent a second transplant surgery, receiving a kidney from her older brother, and is currently in recovery.
Park Ji-yeon married comedian Lee Su-geun in 2008 and they have two sons. She has focused on raising her children and supporting her husband rather than pursuing a career in entertainment. Her positive attitude throughout over a decade of illness has deeply moved many.
