Sunmi Regrets Missing Wonder Girls' Full Group Reunion: 'That Should Have Been My Spot!'
Former Wonder Girls member Sunmi expressed her regret over not being able to join the group's recent full-member reunion.
In a video uploaded on August 6th to Yubin's YouTube channel 'Yubin's Spo-t-light', titled 'Sunmi, why didn't you appear in the first episode?', Sunmi discussed the initial episode which featured fellow members Hyerim, Sohee, and Sunye. She lamented, "I couldn't make it then. Everyone was gathered, but I wasn't there," adding, "Ah, that should have been my spot!"
Sunmi further elaborated on the aura of the group when all members are together, stating, "Individually, we are all very beautiful and cool, but when we are all together, the aura is different." Yubin agreed, noting, "Although we each have different charms, when we come together, the harmony is great."
Sunmi also humorously pointed out the members' shared trait of lacking quick reflexes, joking about how difficult it would be for all six of them to appear on a variety show. Yubin recalled JYP's training method of "answering after 3 seconds," to which Sunmi playfully responded that they often exceed even that, leading to potential broadcast incidents. Sunmi jokingly apologized for their slow reactions and lack of comedic timing during their past 19 years on variety shows.
Sunmi debuted with the iconic girl group Wonder Girls in 2007, quickly rising to fame with their unique concepts and performances. As a solo artist, she has achieved significant success with hits like 'Gashina,' 'Heroine,' and 'Lalalay,' establishing a distinct musical identity. Beyond music, Sunmi is known for her candid and entertaining appearances on various variety shows.
