Actress Song Ji-hyo has made a powerful comeback to television screens after a four-year hiatus, starring in TV Chosun's new weekend mini-series, 'Confidence Man KR'.

Premiering on the 6th, the drama is a heist comedy about three multi-talented con artists who target the villains of our era. Song Ji-hyo's special guest appearance in the first episode immediately captivated viewers with her intense portrayal.

In the series, Song Ji-hyo plays Baek Hwa, a shamanistic con artist driven by greed. She ruthlessly targets those desperate for help, including Ye-sol's mother (played by Lee Bong-ryeon), who is willing to do anything for her daughter despite financial struggles. Baek Hwa's unscrupulous nature is further highlighted through her involvement in illegal casino games, leading to a physical altercation with Lee Rang (played by Park Min-young), and her abandoning her accomplice Gu Ho (played by Joo Jong-hyuk) during a police raid to escape with a bag of money, only to find it filled with talismans instead of cash.

Sporting a striking look with deep red lipstick and sharp eyeliner, Song Ji-hyo commanded attention with her unconventional styling. Her performance, infused with bold dialogue and a complete embodiment of the Baek Hwa character, significantly boosted the drama's immersion. She masterfully depicted Baek Hwa's multifaceted personality, showcasing both charisma and insatiable greed for money, marking a successful 180-degree transformation from her previous roles.

Song Ji-hyo's 'professional moment' resonated warmly with the audience, reaffirming her versatile acting prowess and raising anticipation for her future projects.

Song Ji-hyo debuted as a fashion magazine model in 2001. She has since garnered critical acclaim for her roles in various dramas and films and remains a beloved fixed cast member of the SBS variety show 'Running Man'. Her upcoming film, 'Home of Encounter,' is slated for release, further heightening expectations for her career.
