Lee Young-ae Savors Delectable Beondegi Dish on 'Please Take Care of the Refrigerator'

Acclaimed actress Lee Young-ae has become the talk of the town after thoroughly enjoying a dish made with silkworm pupae on JTBC's variety show 'Please Take Care of the Refrigerator.'

The episode, aired on the 7th, featured Lee Young-ae and actor Kim Young-kwang. Kim Young-kwang surprised everyone by revealing a rather unusual ingredient from his refrigerator: beondegi (silkworm pupae). Despite having purchased them on a friend's recommendation for stamina, he couldn't bring himself to eat them. Chef Kim Poong then took on the challenge to transform the ingredient into a perfect beer snack.

Despite the visually startling appearance of the beondegi, Chef Kim Poong expertly fried and stir-fried them with shrimp, creating a savory dish. Kim Young-kwang was astonished, exclaiming, "Oh? This is delicious! It's like a snack. The pupae don't burst, it's a very savory snack. With beer, the flavor just melts away." Other chefs also praised the dish, with Park Eun-young noting, "The innards of the beondegi are like the 'gop' in beef tripe. You made a great choice."

Ahn Jung-hwan expressed his surprise, asking, "Did Lee Young-ae eat the beondegi?" She responded, "I remember eating them when I was younger, but this tastes completely different," and even finished her beer cleanly.
