Director Park Chan-wook's highly anticipated new film, 'The Unavoidable,' is already creating a massive stir among moviegoers, achieving a pre-sale ticket rate of 30.1% a full 13 days before its release.

The film, an official selection in the competition section of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival and the opening film for the 30th Busan International Film Festival, recorded 169,314 tickets sold as of 7 AM on the 11th, according to the Korean Film Council's integrated network.

'The Unavoidable' tells the story of Mansu (played by Lee Byung-hun), an office worker who faces his own battle for re-employment after an unexpected dismissal. Its pre-sale performance has already surpassed that of major blockbusters like 'Exhuma,' 'The Roundup: Punishment,' and '12.12: The Day' at the same point before their respective releases.

Furthermore, the film has secured the top pre-sale spot across all three major multiplex chains – CGV, Lotte Cinema, and Megabox – signaling the strong potential for a box office hit this autumn. Following its premiere screenings at the Venice and Toronto International Film Festivals, 'The Unavoidable' has garnered rave reviews from international media and global film enthusiasts, setting the stage for its official release on the 24th.

Lee Byung-hun takes on the role of Mansu, an office worker who is suddenly laid off, portraying the complex emotions of a father pushed to the brink of survival.

Known for his versatile acting across genres like action, comedy, and drama, Lee Byung-hun's performance in this new project is highly anticipated.

With a career spanning many years and numerous awards, he has firmly established himself as a leading actor representing South Korea.
