In a tense culinary showdown on tvN's weekend drama 'King the Land,' Im Yoon-ah's character, Yeon Ji-yeong, raised suspicions about Moon Seung-yu's dish.

The episode aired on the 14th featured Yeon Ji-yeong participating in a cooking competition with the theme of 'Creating a Never-Before-Seen Meat Dish.' Despite sustaining an injury from a surprise attack, she bravely switched her chosen dish from 'Spicy Braised Beef Ribs' to 'Beef Bourguignon' to overcome the challenge. While the Joseon courtiers expressed concern over her unconventional cooking methods, Han Min-seong advised them to observe.

Meanwhile, Ming Dynasty's Abi-su (played by Moon Seung-yu) presented a dish using chili oil made with chili powder, aiming to impress. The Ming Dynasty's 'Gokbu Myungju' also heightened the tension in the Joseon royal kitchen. Although Lee Heon and Woo Gon admired Yeon Ji-yeong's Beef Bourguignon, Woo Gon ultimately dismissed it as not being a 'never-before-seen dish.' Yeon Ji-yeong explained the dish's personal significance to her.

Abi-su then unveiled his chicken dish, 'Gyejeong,' asserting it differed from traditional Joseon 'Gangjeong.' He revealed his secret ingredient was the novel red oil, 'Layu.' Before the competition results were announced, Im Yoon-ah tasted Abi-su's Gyejeong and voiced her suspicion that it resembled the Sichuan dish 'Kung Pao Chicken,' which appeared much later historically. Abi-su claimed he obtained the ingredients legitimately by trading 'Huajiao,' but this action was deemed unacceptable for a royal chef. The first round was on the verge of being declared a loss for the Ming side.

Abi-su attempted to explain his acquisition of chili powder through Je-san Daegun, but the unauthorized entry of ingredients into the Saongwon without permission led to a new complication.

Im Yoon-ah, also known as Yoona, is a prominent South Korean singer and actress, widely recognized as a member of the iconic girl group Girls' Generation. She has garnered critical acclaim for her versatile acting roles across various dramas and films, earning her the title 'acting-dol.' Her recent performance in the Netflix film '20th Century Girl' further solidified her reputation as a skilled actress.
