Actor Yoon Ji-on has been removed from the upcoming Channel A drama 'My Baby' following a drunk driving incident. The production is now facing significant financial and time losses due to extensive reshoots.

The drama, which had already completed a substantial portion of its filming, will undergo a complete restart with a new actor in Yoon Ji-on's role.

News broke on September 17th that Yoon Ji-on was caught driving under the influence recently. He admitted to the offense, stating he took a parked motorcycle while heavily intoxicated on September 16th and is currently assessing the damage.

Apologizing through his social media, Yoon Ji-on expressed deep regret for disappointing his fans and promised to learn from his mistakes, accepting any legal consequences. He has also deleted his social media accounts following the controversy.

'My Baby' was slated for broadcast next year and had been filming since July. The drama is based on a web novel and follows a reverse romantic comedy plot. Yoon Ji-on played the role of Lee Min-wook, a childhood friend of the female lead, who is involved in a love triangle. His departure necessitates finding a replacement and re-filming scenes amounting to considerable financial loss.

This situation is particularly ironic, as Yoon Ji-on himself stepped in as a replacement for actor Oh Seung-yoon in the 2019 drama 'Melo is My Nature' after Oh Seung-yoon was involved in a DUI accessory charge. Yoon Ji-on had built his career through various supporting roles before gaining prominence, starring in dramas like 'Jirisan' and 'My Roommate is a Gumiho', before his recent lead role in 'My Baby'.

Yoon Ji-on debuted as a theater actor in 2013 with the play 'Romeo and Juliet'. He gained early recognition for his minor roles in popular dramas such as 'Guardian: The Lonely and Great God', 'Stranger', and 'Mr. Sunshine'. His career saw a significant boost when he was cast as a replacement in the 2019 drama 'Melo is My Nature', following a DUI-related scandal involving the original actor.
