Comedian Jo Jin-se recently shared his deep appreciation for senior comedian Lim Woo-il on the MBN variety show ‘Gaboja GO Season 5’.

During the broadcast, Lim Woo-il led Hong Hyun-hee and Ahn Jung-hwan to Jo Jin-se’s home, making it seem like a natural visit. Hong Hyun-hee expressed disbelief, noting Lim Woo-il’s well-known thrifty nature and questioning why he would use his air conditioning so generously. She even humorously suggested they might have been brought to a place where he was working an odd job, like caring for cats.

The owner of the house was revealed to be Jo Jin-se. He explained that Lim Woo-il, despite being five batches ahead of him in their comedy batch, had been a crucial support. When Jo Jin-se’s comedy career hit a slump after the end of their show and his income ceased, Lim Woo-il encouraged him to start a YouTube channel and even offered to help with appearance fees. He significantly aided in the creation of their popular channel, ‘Shortbox’.

Jo Jin-se recalled the difficult period, stating, “I thought I wouldn’t be able to do comedy anymore. But thanks to senior Lim Woo-il’s help, we started YouTube, and it took off within 2-3 months.” He particularly remembered the runaway success of the skit ‘Long-term Relationship’ with Kim Won-hoon and Uhm Ji-yoon, which surged from 2-3 thousand views to 80 thousand, then 100 thousand, and eventually a million views, reigniting his passion.

Jo Jin-se debuted as a KBS comedian in 2019, part of the 31st batch. He gained significant popularity as a YouTube creator through the channel 'Shortbox,' with content like 'Long-term Relationship.' His witty humor and relatable everyday observations have earned him a large fanbase.
