K Wave Media (KWM), a NASDAQ-listed company, has officially announced its investment in the film 'I Have No Idea,' marking its first major project directly led by the headquarters since its public listing.

This investment signifies KWM's accelerated push into the global market by leveraging its content investment capabilities. The film 'I Have No Idea' has already garnered international acclaim, receiving a nine-minute standing ovation at the Venice International Film Festival.

A key aspect of this move is that KWM's headquarters is taking direct charge of content investment, a role previously managed by its subsidiary, Solaire Partners. This shift underscores KWM's strategy to utilize its integrated business structure, spanning investment, production, and distribution, to secure original IPs and diversify revenue streams.

"This project is the first step in executing KWM's growth strategy since our listing," stated a KWM representative. "We will continue to proactively invest in high-quality IPs to expand our global presence and enhance shareholder value."

Directed by Park Chan-wook and starring A-list actors like Lee Byung-hun and Son Ye-jin, 'I Have No Idea' is highly anticipated as a major release this fall, scheduled to premiere on the 24th.

The film 'I Have No Idea' centers on a previously content office worker named 'Man-soo' (played by Lee Byung-hun) who faces unexpected termination. He then embarks on a personal battle to protect his family, home, and secure re-employment. The movie boasts a stellar cast including Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, and Yum Hye-ran, promising a compelling cinematic experience.
