
Netflix Considers Simultaneous Production of 'Trauma Center' Seasons 2 & 3 Amidst Global Success
Netflix is reportedly in discussions regarding the simultaneous production of Season 2 and Season 3 for its original series, 'Trauma Center.'
A Netflix representative stated to OSEN on the 23rd, "We are grateful for the interest in 'Trauma Center,' and we are currently reviewing follow-up production. Nothing has been confirmed yet."
Earlier reports suggested that Netflix had confirmed simultaneous production for Seasons 2 and 3, with filming slated to begin in the summer of 2026.
'Trauma Center' tells the exhilarating story of genius surgeon Baek Kang-hyuk (played by Ju Ji-hoon), who was active on the front lines, taking on the challenge of reviving a neglected trauma team. The series is based on a popular web novel and webtoon of the same name by ENT doctor Lee Nak-jun.
Released on January 24th as an 8-episode series on Netflix, the drama garnered significant attention, topping Netflix's global non-English TV show charts as well as achieving success domestically. Following this impressive global performance, anticipation is mounting over the possibility of not just Season 2, but also Season 3 being produced concurrently.
The series centers around the character of Baek Kang-hyuk, a brilliant surgeon with a background in combat zones. Actor Ju Ji-hoon portrays Baek Kang-hyuk, delivering a charismatic performance. The original web novel and webtoon also achieved substantial popularity due to their robust narrative.
