Cosmic Girls' Dayoung Clinches First Solo Win on 'THE SHOW' with 'body'

Dayoung, a member of the popular K-pop group Cosmic Girls, has achieved her first music show win as a solo artist.

On the evening of the 23rd, at the SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong, Seoul, Dayoung took home the 'THE SHOW Choice' award with her debut solo track 'body'. The live broadcast was filled with excitement as she accepted the trophy.

Competing against fellow nominees AxMxP and IDID, Dayoung secured the top spot with an impressive score of 6590 points, accumulating 4000 points from digital and physical sales, 1590 from video, broadcast, and pre-voting, and 1000 from live voting. IDID followed in second place with 4129 points, and AxMxP came in third with 3072 points.

Overwhelmed with emotion, Dayoung shed tears while expressing her gratitude. She first thanked the staff at Starship Entertainment for giving her the opportunity to pursue her passion. She also extended her thanks to fellow artists who participated in her challenge video, highlighting the camaraderie within the industry. "I wanted to be a Dayoung who is loved, just like the album title 'gonna love me, right?', and I'm so thankful that you loved me," she said, promising to work even harder in the future.

Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, Cosmic Girls members Exy, Yeonjung, and Bona made a surprise appearance during the encore stage, showcasing their strong bond with Dayoung and further exciting the audience.

Dayoung's first solo album, 'gonna love me, right?', was released on the 9th. Her achievement of winning her first music show award just 15 days after her solo debut marks a significant milestone in her career.
