
‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ OST Dominates Billboard Charts for 11 Weeks
The original soundtrack (OST) for the animation ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ (hereinafter referred to as ‘KDH’) is continuing its impressive run on the U.S. Billboard charts, maintaining a strong presence for 11 consecutive weeks.
According to the Billboard charts released on the 23rd (local time), eight tracks from the ‘KDH’ OST simultaneously appeared on the Hot 100 chart dated the 20th.
Notably, ‘Golden,’ performed by the in-animation group Huntrix, retained its number one position for another week, marking its fifth consecutive week and sixth overall at the top. Furthermore, ‘Your Idol’ and ‘Soda Pop,’ by another fictional group Sajaboys, secured the 5th and 6th spots respectively, showcasing the OST's robust performance.
Other tracks like ‘How It’s Done’ at number 10, ‘What It Sounds Like’ at 19, ‘Take Down’ at 24, and ‘Free’ at 27 also achieved high rankings.
The ‘KDH’ OST album itself ranked second on the Billboard 200, the main album chart, this week. After reaching number one last week, the album has now held a top position for eight weeks, highlighting the significant impact of K-content in the global music market.
‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ is an animated series centered around the K-pop phenomenon, gaining attention for its unique universe and captivating characters. The OST plays a crucial role in enhancing the animation's atmosphere and increasing viewer immersion. This latest Billboard chart success serves as further proof of K-pop's expanding global influence.
