Yuqi (YUQI), a member of the K-pop group GIDLE, has made a significant mark with her first solo single.

According to Hanteo Chart, a leading music sales tracker in South Korea, Yuqi's debut single ‘Motivation’ sold an impressive 414,547 copies in its first week of release (initial sales). This achievement also propelled her to the number one spot on the music charts for the third week of September, solidifying her presence as a solo artist.

Following the success of her first mini-album ‘YUQ1’, which became a half-million seller last year, Yuqi's debut single has once again demonstrated the strong support of her global fanbase through high initial sales figures.

The single ‘Motivation’ has also shown remarkable performance on music streaming platforms. It topped the daily digital album sales charts on China's largest music platforms, QQ Music and Kugou Music, immediately after its release. The title track ‘M.O.’ also hit number one on the real-time chart of the Korean music site Bugs, sweeping both domestic and international music charts.

Released on the 16th, ‘Motivation’ features three self-composed tracks, including the title song ‘M.O.’, a song titled ‘Sick’, and its Chinese version ‘还痛吗’ (hái tòng ma). Yuqi’s direct involvement in writing and composing all tracks showcases her expanded musical spectrum, skillfully navigating various genres from hip-hop to rock.

Currently, Yuqi is engaging with her fans worldwide through the ‘YUQI 1st Single [Motivation] POP-UP’ events, celebrating her single's release across seven Asian cities.

Beyond her group activities with GIDLE, Yuqi consistently showcases her capabilities as a talented solo artist. Fans particularly appreciate her distinct musical color, evident in her active participation in songwriting and composition. This single serves as a moment to reaffirm her growth and the strong bond she shares with her global audience.
