Group BTS member Jin is being mentioned in a controversy surrounding the violation of origin labeling laws, linked to Theborn Korea CEO Baek Jong-won.

It has been revealed that 'Jinys Lamp,' an agricultural corporation jointly invested in by Baek Jong-won and Jin, has been accused of mislabeling the origin of its distilled spirit 'IGIN.'

Jinys Lamp was established in 2022, and the 'IGIN' brand was launched in December 2024. While Jinys Lamp was responsible for manufacturing the product, distribution was handled by 'Yesandoga,' an affiliated agricultural corporation of Theborn Korea.

The issue stems from alleged mislabeling in the 'Plum Flavor' and 'Watermelon Flavor' variants of the 'IGIN Highball Tonic' series. It is claimed that foreign concentrated ingredients were used, but the origin was falsely listed as 'Domestic' on online sales platforms.

This could constitute a violation of the Act on Origin Labeling, which carries penalties of up to seven years in prison or a fine of up to 100 million won.

Relevant authorities have stated they will thoroughly investigate if any violations are confirmed. Online communities are divided, with some asserting Jin's responsibility while others defend his position as a mere investor. This controversy raises questions about its potential impact on the strong trust between Baek Jong-won and Jin.

Jin is known as the visual member and a main vocalist of the global phenomenon group BTS. He embarked on a successful solo career with the release of his single 'The Astronaut' in October 2022. Currently serving his mandatory military service, he actively engages with fans through various content.
