
'Reasonable Architecture' Concludes Season with Seoul's Iconic Hangang River
MBC's educational program 'Reasonable Architecture - Space Traveler' successfully wrapped up its season on the 23rd with its final episode, 'Seoul, Built by Hangang'.
In this concluding episode, hosts Jun Hyun-moo, Park Sun-young, and Lim Woo-il teamed up to explore the Hangang River and its surrounding bridges, shedding light on Seoul's development through architecture and history. The journey featured fascinating stories, starting with Hangang Bridge, the first pedestrian bridge completed in 1917. They uncovered traces of the 1925 Great Flood that reshaped Jamsil's map, explored the reasons behind the construction of Jamsugyo and Banpo Bridges with military strategies in mind, and discussed the influence of inter-Korean relations on the design of Hannam Bridge.
The team also visited a hotel built atop a bridge and Nodeul Island, a popular spot for sunset views. They expressed surprise at the revelation that Nodeul Island was once connected to the mainland. Jun Hyun-moo's witty remarks, living up to his nickname 'Trend Cutter,' brought laughter to the viewers, especially his comments on trendy spots popular among the MZ generation.
Following positive reception from its pilot run, 'Reasonable Architecture' became a regular series, captivating audiences by delving into history, culture, and society through the lens of architecture.
