Park Mi-sun Was Set to Join 'New Woman' Before Health Scare, Fans Express Disappointment and Support
It has come to light that comedian Park Mi-sun was initially slated to join the new program 'New Woman' before her recent health diagnosis, a revelation that has deepened fans' feelings of regret and concern.
In a recently released episode of the web entertainment show 'New Woman' on the YouTube channel 'Rolling Thunder,' fellow cast member Jo Hye-ryun shared an update after speaking with Park Mi-sun. Jo Hye-ryun revealed, "Actually, the original plan for 'New Woman' was for the three of us, including Mi-sun unnie, to do it together," sparking considerable interest.
According to Jo Hye-ryun, Park Mi-sun had to withdraw from participating due to health reasons, despite being close to joining. Jo Hye-ryun mentioned that Park Mi-sun had commented on Lee Kyung-sil, noting, "Unnie Lee Kyung-sil has changed. In the past, her concept was harsh, but now she seems softer and more encompassing," indicating Park Mi-sun is still actively watching the show. Jo Hye-ryun expressed her affection, saying, "We need to keep giving her energy. That's how well we're doing."
Previously, reports surfaced that Park Mi-sun was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer during a health check-up and is focusing on treatment. While her agency stated that the specific medical condition is private information and difficult to disclose, they confirmed that she is indeed taking a break for health reasons.
During the broadcast, fond memories with Park Mi-sun were also recalled. Jo Hye-ryun reminisced about a time when Yoo Jae-suk filled the role of Lee Sun-min, making it incredibly fun even without a script. Lee Sun-min playfully expressed her ambition to be compared to Yoo Jae-suk, leading to humorous exchanges with Lee Kyung-sil and Jo Hye-ryun, who playfully teased her comparison.
Despite the warm mentions from her colleagues, Park Mi-sun's absence was palpable. Fans flooded social media with messages of support, saying, "It's a shame they couldn't have chemistry together," "Your health is the top priority. We wish you a speedy recovery," and "'New Woman' feels empty without Park Mi-sun. We hope you'll return soon."
