PD Kim Dae-hyun Hopes for Lim Young-woong's Appearance on 'Achim Madang' 10,000th Episode Special
KBS's long-running flagship program, 'Achim Madang,' is approaching its monumental 10,000th broadcast, drawing significant attention from fans nationwide.
In particular, speculation is mounting regarding the potential appearance of singer Lim Young-woong, who rose to stardom through the show.
'Achim Madang,' which began its journey as 'Lee Gye-jin's Achim Madang' on May 20, 1991, has been a cornerstone of broadcast for 34 years, focusing on people and their stories amidst evolving times. The 10,000th episode special is scheduled to run from the 29th of this month to the 3rd of next month.
The special will kick off on the 29th with hosts Lee Kum-hee and Son Bum-soo, featuring performances by Song Ga-in and Ahn Sung-hoon. The 30th will see director Cho Jung-rae, vocalist Park Mo-se, and YouTuber Kim Do-yun engaging with overseas Koreans.
Early next month, the 1st will host 'Dream Stage' with Nam Jin, Park Seo-jin, and Lee Soo-yeon. On the 2nd, original MC Lee Gye-jin will deliver a special lecture. The 3rd will feature veteran actors Kang Bu-ja and Kim Sung-hwan, alongside rising trot stars Hwang Min-ho, Bin Ye-seo, and Park Sung-on.
During a press conference on the 24th, PD Kim Dae-hyun addressed the possibility of Lim Young-woong's participation. "We are in frequent communication with Lim Young-woong, but he is incredibly busy. However, we are maintaining contact, and I believe he will be able to join 'Achim Madang' with us someday," he stated.
Lim Young-woong previously proved his potential by appearing eight times and securing five wins on 'Achim Madang's' corner, 'Challenge! Dream Stage.'
Kim Hye-young, who was involved in the production at the time, recalled, "Lim Young-woong appeared eight times and won five times, making him particularly memorable. Park Seo-jin was the first to achieve one win, followed by Lim Young-woong, which gradually increased interest in 'Challenge! Dream Stage.'"
As one of the most symbolic stars nurtured by 'Achim Madang,' Lim Young-woong's response to the 10,000th episode special is highly anticipated following the PD's direct remarks.
