Park Chan-wook's latest film, 'No Other Choice,' has stormed to the top of the box office, drawing 331,518 admissions on its opening day. This impressive figure marks the strongest opening for any Korean film released this year.

The movie centers on Mansoo (played by Lee Byung-hun), an office worker who believed he had achieved everything in life, only to face a sudden layoff that shatters his world. The narrative follows his personal battle to protect his wife, two children, and the home he worked so hard to secure.

This opening day success surpasses Park Chan-wook's previous box office hits, including 'The Handmaiden' (290,024 admissions), 'Lady Vengeance' (279,413 admissions), and 'Decision to Leave' (114,589 admissions).

Furthermore, 'No Other Choice' outperformed last year's top-grossing film 'Exhuma' (330,118 admissions on opening day) and 2023's record-breaker '12.12: The Day' (Seoul's Spring) (203,813 admissions). With the upcoming Chuseok holiday season, industry experts anticipate the film's strong momentum to continue.
