Overcoming Hearing Loss, 2NG Becomes K-Culture Ambassador in Germany
Park Yi-nyeong, professionally known as 2NG, a rapper, dancer, and cultural planner, is actively promoting K-POP and Korean culture in Bremen, Germany.
Despite losing her hearing at a young age, 2NG never abandoned her passion for music, consistently releasing original songs and performing on stage, showcasing her sophisticated dance skills. As a cultural planner, she has worked to broaden cultural accessibility in various regions and appeared on the KBS show 'Hello Counselor' in 2012 as a 'hearing-impaired rapper.'
Since relocating her base of activities to Germany in 2018, 2NG has been at the forefront of introducing Korean cultural content and K-POP globally, leaving a significant mark on the international stage. Notably, a Korean cultural content expo held in Bremen in July 2024 offered diverse programs over two days, receiving enthusiastic responses from locals. In August 2025, she collaborated with city officials for a 3.5-hour K-POP workshop, engaging with local youth. Furthermore, she has been featured in local media for her work as a K-POP instructor in suburban cities around Bremen where Korean cultural activities were previously scarce.
2NG's journey extends beyond mere K-POP promotion. She has dedicated 17 years to refining her pronunciation and vocalization despite her hearing impairment, and continues to train her voice and create new music. Simultaneously, she teaches K-POP dance at local academies and schools, conveying a message of empowerment to young people through K-culture projects and workshops, emphasizing that "anyone can achieve success on the world stage."
In addition, her project 'ART?ART!MAGAZINE', launched with photographer Jeong Hyeon-seok, has evolved over four years into a global magazine read by subscribers, artists, and publishers from dozens of countries, highlighting her role in discovering and promoting promising artists even during her less-known days.
More recently, she formed the group THREADZ with fellow artists Doggsta and Keisha, whom she met on the social media platform Threads, and is preparing for their debut album release, presenting a model for global music collaboration in the digital era.
2NG expressed her aspirations, stating, "I hope my journey of challenge becomes a source of courage for someone. Disabilities cannot block my path," and added, "I aim to achieve even greater accomplishments based on Korean cultural content."
2NG has spent 17 years diligently practicing her pronunciation and vocalization while continuing to produce new music. She actively teaches K-POP dance to young people in Germany, inspiring them with dreams and hope. Her collaborative project 'ART?ART!MAGAZINE' with photographer Jeong Hyeon-seok has grown into an internationally recognized publication.
