Actress Yum Hye-ran has shared her thoughts on her experience working with acclaimed director Park Chan-wook and co-star Lee Sung-min in the film 'The Rebound'.

In a recent interview, Yum Hye-ran discussed the behind-the-scenes stories from the making of 'The Rebound'. The movie tells the story of 'Man-soo' (played by Lee Byung-hun), a white-collar worker who feels content with his life until he is suddenly fired. He then embarks on a personal battle to protect his family, his home, and secure re-employment.

Yum Hye-ran portrays 'A-ra', the wife of 'Beom-mo' (played by Lee Sung-min), delivering a powerful performance. She revealed that she has known Lee Sung-min for 20 years since their days in theater. "Senior Lee Sung-min told me back then that I would succeed. I was so happy to be able to play a married couple with him," she stated.

Speaking about their on-screen chemistry, she added, "He didn't offer direct acting advice but allowed for a natural breathing room, letting me adapt on my own. He also provided comfort by listening to my concerns whenever I felt nervous."

Regarding her collaboration with director Park Chan-wook, Yum Hye-ran admitted to initial apprehension. "I studied his previous works again. While I'm not fond of violent scenes, I found his films, rich in symbolism and metaphor, to be very engaging," she explained.

Yum Hye-ran emphasized that observing the collaborative process between the director and the crew on set was a unique experience. "Given the director's strong artistic vision, I initially assumed he worked in a more singular way, but I was impressed by how he actively listened to and communicated with every staff member. He was truly a gentleman and very open-minded. Witnessing the process firsthand was incredibly moving," she shared.

Yum Hye-ran made her acting debut in the 2000 play 'Nothing is the Best'. With her solid acting skills, she has delivered memorable performances in various productions including the dramas 'Stranger', 'Mr. Sunshine', 'Hospital Playlist', and 'Juvenile Justice'. She continues her active career, appearing in films like 'Concrete Utopia' and 'Alienoid: Return to Future', showcasing her versatility in portraying a wide range of characters across screens.
