Born in 1949, Jeon Yoo-sung was more than just a comedian; he was a versatile figure who left an indelible mark as a broadcast writer, performance planner, and film director. After studying theater, he began his career writing scripts for renowned MC Kwak Kyu-seok, later gaining fame in the 1970s by writing for the popular TBC show 'Show Show Show.'
His most significant contribution is widely considered to be the popularization of the term 'gagman' in Korea. By proposing and promoting this term, he defined a new genre of comedian characterized by creative and witty humor, establishing it in media and public consciousness.

Kim Hak-rae remarked on his influence, stating, 'He's a senior comedian. He created the word. He's Jeon Yoo-sung. He helped my nearly 50-year career as a comedian go in the right direction.'
