Broadcaster Park Mi-sun, who is currently on hiatus due to health concerns, has sent a condolence wreath to the wake of the late comedian Jeon Yu-seong, garnering widespread support from netizens.
The wake for the late Jeon Yu-seong was established on the 26th at the Asan Medical Center Funeral Hall in Seoul. Jeon Yu-seong passed away on the 25th due to worsening symptoms of pleurisy, at the age of 76.
Following the news, a continuous stream of junior colleagues visited the wake. Notably, national MC Yoo Jae-suk stayed for over an hour and a half, paying his respects.
Park Mi-sun, who has been a subject of concern due to rumors of ill health, also sent a wreath to honor Jeon Yu-seong, a senior she deeply respected. Last year, Park Mi-sun shared photos after meeting with Jeon Yu-seong and expressed worry about his health, writing, "On my way back from Namwon after taking a midnight train to meet senior Jeon Yu-seong. He seems quite thin, I'm worried. Please be healthy." This past concern makes the current situation even more poignant.
Park Mi-sun has been suspended from broadcasting and YouTube activities since January of this year to focus on her recovery. While a media outlet previously reported that Park Mi-sun was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer, her agency stated cautiously, "It is difficult to disclose the exact diagnosis as it is personal medical information. However, it is true that she is resting for health reasons."
Meanwhile, broadcaster Jo Hye-ryun mentioned a recent phone call with Park Mi-sun in a 'Shin Yeoseong' YouTube video released on the 9th. Jo Hye-ryun shared that Park Mi-sun had watched their content and discussed their fellow comedian Lee Gyeong-sil, noting how Lee Gyeong-sil had become softer and more inclusive in her demeanor. Jo Hye-ryun emphasized the need to support Park Mi-sun, highlighting her positive engagement.
Netizens have also responded with messages of encouragement, wishing for her speedy recovery, such as "Please come back healthy" and "We hope for your full recovery."
