
Lee Moon-sae Mourns Passing of Broadcasting Pioneer Jeon Yu-seong
Singer Lee Moon-sae has expressed his deep sorrow following the news of the passing of broadcasting pioneer Jeon Yu-seong.
In a social media post on the 27th, Lee shared his heartbreak upon hearing the news while preparing for a concert in Vancouver. He recalled a recent message from Jeon, saying, "A few days ago, I received a message from him saying, 'I miss you, can you come?' His short message held so much meaning. I promised I would visit once I returned to Korea after the concert, but he was always so impatient…" Lee expressed his regret over the unfulfilled promise.
Highlighting Jeon Yu-seong's role in discovering him as a star, Lee stated, "Yesterday, I was in a daze all day." He further honored the deceased, calling him "a truly great figure in the Korean entertainment industry, someone who paved the way for me to pursue music and broadcasting, who continued to care for me, and who gave me immense love that I can never fully repay."
Concluding his message, Lee said, "Thank you always. Please rest well now, free from pain and suffering. I will visit you when I return to Korea," conveying his heartfelt condolences.
Jeon Yu-seong, a trailblazer in Korean popular culture and an inspiration to many junior artists, passed away on the 25th at the age of 76 due to worsening pneumothorax symptoms. He had refused life-sustaining treatment. His wake is being held at Asan Medical Center in Seoul, and the funeral will be conducted as a comedian's association service, with burial in Inwol-myeon, Namwon-si.
Lee Moon-sae debuted as a radio DJ for MBC's 'Starry Night' in 1978, gaining immense popularity. His emotionally resonant ballad songs have been beloved by the public for many years. He continues to actively engage with fans through his ongoing music releases and concerts.
