Legendary K-pop group H.O.T. made a surprise appearance on JTBC's 'Newsroom,' marking their first broadcast together in seven years. The members expressed a sense of surrealness, with some describing the reunion as feeling 'like a digital composite.'

During the interview, member Jang Woo-hyuk shared his feelings about being back together, stating, "We find it quite astonishing ourselves. It's been such a long time since the five of us were together, and it's deeply moving." Moon Hee-joon chimed in, adding humorously, "Personally, it feels like an AI composite."

Kangta noted that it has been approximately seven years since their last full group broadcast appearance in 2018. Debuting in 1996, H.O.T. is celebrating their 29th anniversary this year. Reflecting on the passage of time, Jang Woo-hyuk commented, "Every time I monitor myself, I notice a few more wrinkles, realizing how much time has truly passed." He added, "We don't see it negatively. As time passes, new strengths emerge, so we embrace it positively."

When asked about moments that remind them of their unchanged H.O.T. spirit, Jang Woo-hyuk recalled, "There's always someone who collapses after practicing. Seeing that person always makes me think, 'We're just like we used to be.'" Tony An lightheartedly added, "I'm in charge of the physical decline," drawing laughter from the group.

H.O.T. is set to headline the '2025 Hanteo Music Festival' this November, promising a full group performance. For a song they wish to share with fans, Lee Jae-won selected 'We Are the Future,' explaining, "I saw it on a platform recently and was struck by how cool it was. It reminded me of the incredible energy we had back then. I want to show that energy to generations who may not be familiar with the song." Kangta agreed, noting, "Even after a long break, maknae Jae-won's energy during practice is still there."

Korean netizens expressed overwhelming excitement, with comments like "Can't believe they reunited after 7 years!" and "H.O.T. are truly legends." Many also shared nostalgic sentiments, saying "The 90s vibe is still the same," and voiced anticipation for future events, such as "Please have a concert soon."
