Dragon Pony Ignites Vietnam Stage in Debut Showcase; Solidifies 'Top Rookie' Status
South Korean band Dragon Pony (members: Ahn Tae-gyu, Pyeon Seong-hyeon, Kwon Se-hyeok, Go Kang-hoon) has made a memorable first impression on their Vietnamese fans.
The quartet took the stage at the 'Korea Spotlight 2025' global music showcase series held in Vietnam on the 31st of last month, delivering a powerful performance.
'Korea Spotlight 2025', hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), is gaining attention as a platform that goes beyond simple concerts to showcase new horizons in Korean popular music.
During their first-ever performance in Vietnam, Dragon Pony captivated the local audience with their self-composed tracks, filled with the raw emotions of youthful passion. They further heated up the venue by including their unreleased song, 'Summerless Dream', in the setlist.
The band showcased a diverse musical palette, starting with the refreshing and rocking sounds of 'Morse Code', 'Waste', and 'Altruism', followed by the lyrical sentiments of 'Planet Boy'. They then exploded with their signature free-spirited energy on 'Not Out' and 'POP UP', delivering an overwhelming band sound that drew admiration.
Dragon Pony has recently been experiencing a surge in popularity, performing at major domestic festivals this year including 'Beautiful Mint Life 2025', '2025 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival', '2025 Ulsan Summer Festival', 'JUMF 2025 Jeonju Ultimate Music Festival', '2025 Let's Rock Festival', and '2025 Busan International Rock Festival', solidifying their status as the 'top rookies' in the K-band scene.
Looking ahead, Dragon Pony is set to participate in the live concert series 'youTopia vol.2 "Dragon Pony X KAMI WA SAIKORO WO FURANAI" - SEOUL', scheduled for November 22-23 at Myeonghwa Live Hall in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. They will be joining forces with Japanese band KAMI WA SAIKORO WO FURANAI for a special collaboration, further accelerating their momentum.
