Comedian Kim Dae-hee Recounts Heroic Apartment Fire Evacuation Led by Wife

Comedian Kim Dae-hee shared a story of his calm response during a past apartment fire, crediting his wife's leadership for safely evacuating residents. The anecdote was revealed on the YouTube channel 'Jo Dong-ari' on the 14th.

During the show, fellow comedian Kim Soo-yong mentioned Kim Dae-hee's past heroic act of saving neighbors. Kim Dae-hee recounted the incident, stating, "Suddenly, there was an explosion sound from the floor below my apartment, and smoke billowed out."

He recalled the chaotic moments, saying, "I was holding my third and second child, and my eldest by the hand, descending the stairs, but I was flustered. My wife, however, started giving instructions."

Kim Soo-yong noted that his wife was a former flight attendant, to which Kim Dae-hee added, "She divided the tasks, saying, 'You go check the upper floors and other areas, and I'll handle the intercom calls from this floor down.'"

Kim Dae-hee explained, "Soon after, the sprinklers activated and the fire was extinguished within 5 to 10 minutes. We had already called 119, but the fire was out by then." He also mentioned, "All the residents were looking at us."

He humorously emphasized his wife's role, stating, "It wasn't my leadership, but thanks to my wife's directions," showcasing his humility.

Kim Dae-hee married in 2007, and his wife is known to be a former flight attendant for Korean Air. They have three daughters. Kim Dae-hee debuted as a KBS comedian and gained significant popularity through shows like 'Gag Concert'.
