Rookie Group CORTIS Makes Explosive Debut, 'COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES' Shatters Records and Declares Them 2025's Top New Act

BigHit Music's brand-new boy group CORTIS has made a record-breaking entrance into the K-pop scene with their debut album, 'COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES,' solidifying their status as 2025's premier rookie act.

According to Hanteo Chart, the album sold an impressive 436,367 copies in its first week (September 8–14). This placed them at No. 2 on the weekly album chart and saw them top the daily chart for two consecutive days (September 14–15). CORTIS now stands as the only debut boy group this year to surpass 400,000 copies in first-week sales, ranking an outstanding No. 4 among all K-pop debut albums. This remarkable achievement is even more significant as the group comprises members with no prior survival show experience or previous group affiliations.

Their digital performance mirrors their physical sales success. On the Apple Music Korea's Top 100 Today chart (September 13), three of their tracks simultaneously charted within the top 10: the intro track 'GO!' at No. 4, the title track 'What You Want' at No. 8, and the follow-up single 'FaSHioN' at No. 10. Furthermore, on Spotify’s Daily Viral Songs Global chart, 'What You Want' secured the No. 1 spot for an entire week (September 1–7), while 'GO!' hit No. 1 for three consecutive days (September 9–11). This makes CORTIS the sole rookie group in 2025 to achieve a No. 1 on this global chart.

As BigHit Music's first boy group in six years since BTS and TXT, CORTIS self-describes as a 'young creative crew,' actively co-creating their music, choreography, and visual content. This hands-on approach sets them apart as self-driven artists. Following promotional activities for 'GO!' and 'What You Want,' they are currently promoting 'FaSHioN' on music shows, garnering praise for their confident live vocals and powerful stage presence.
