Actor Jung Woo-sung will be meeting with the press for the first time in approximately 10 months following his personal life controversy. He is attending the hand-printing event for the 34th Buil Film Awards in Busan, an honor earned for winning Best Actor last year for his role in the film '12.12: The Day'.

The controversy, which erupted in November last year, involved Jung being identified as the biological father of a child born to model Moon Ga-byul. It was reported they had a relationship that resulted in a pregnancy, with Moon Ga-byul choosing to become a single mother. This news dealt a significant blow to Jung's long-standing 'gentleman' image, compounded by past anecdotes of him contacting general female acquaintances via direct messages.

However, Jung confronted the situation head-on. Just five days after the scandal broke, he appeared at the 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards ceremony, stating, "I will bear all the criticism. As a father, I will fulfill my responsibilities to my son until the end." This declaration shifted public perception, positioning him as an 'icon of responsibility'.

His comeback is now progressing smoothly. He has completed filming for the Disney+ original series 'Made in Korea' and recently shot a commercial for a virtual asset platform. His appearance at the Buil Film Awards marks a clear step towards his return to public life.

While some express concern about potential public dissatisfaction with a swift return, others view the situation positively, noting it has prompted societal reflection on diverse family structures, including non-marital births and children born outside of marriage. Jung is reportedly legally married, having reportedly completed a marriage registration with his girlfriend last month, though his agency has only commented that it is a "personal private matter."

After a tumultuous year filled with scandal, acknowledgment of responsibility, and his current marital status, all eyes are on Jung Woo-sung to see if he can successfully complete his career comeback with upcoming projects following his public appearances.

Jung Woo-sung debuted in the 1994 film 'The Fox Family' and received the Best Supporting Actor award at the 34th Blue Dragon Film Awards for his role in 'The Flu' in 2013. Beyond acting, he actively serves as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, demonstrating his commitment to humanitarian causes.
