JTBC's representative baseball entertainment program, 'Strong Baseball,' is set for a complete transformation in its 2025 season.

Premiering on the 22nd, 'Strong Baseball' is a real sports entertainment show where retired professional baseball players reunite to take on the challenge of baseball once again.

This season features a powerhouse lineup including KBO legends like Kim Tae-gyun, Lee Dae-hyung, Yoon Seok-min, Kwon Hyuk, and Na Ji-wan, forming a new team called 'Breakers' as they embark on a quest for the title of 'Strongest.'

Producers Ahn Sung-han and Jung Yoon-ah shared their excitement about the revamped season in a written interview.

The newly formed 'Breakers' boast an impressive roster, including all-time legend Kim Tae-gyun, 'Supersonic' Lee Dae-hyung, 'Untouchable' Yoon Seok-min, left-handed fireballer Kwon Hyuk, and the hero of the Game 7 walk-off home run, Na Ji-wan. Producer Ahn Sung-han emphasized, "We assembled players capable of forming the strongest team. Seasoned veterans provide leadership, and younger players fill in the gaps to create a well-balanced squad."

Shim Soo-chang, who experienced the disappointment of being released last season, returns as a player-coach, expected to contribute in various roles. Producer Ahn Sung-han expressed, "We hope Shim Soo-chang can overcome his past regrets through the reborn 'Strong Baseball,' serving as a coach, player, and scout."

Notably, the comeback story of pitcher Yoon Seok-min has garnered significant attention. Facing shoulder pain that jeopardized his participation, Yoon Seok-min underwent a rigorous three-month rehabilitation program to return to the mound. Producer Ahn Sung-han urged viewers to "look forward to Yoon Seok-min's slider, a testament to his grueling efforts," expressing anticipation for his revival.

This season introduces the 'Strongest Cup Tournament,' where 'Breakers' will compete against the strongest amateur baseball teams. The tournament format, involving a preliminary league followed by a championship, promises more thrilling matches. Producer Ahn Sung-han stated, "Our goal this season is to win the 'Strongest Cup Tournament' and become the 'Strongest Breakers.'"

Producer Jung Yoon-ah highlighted the players' intense passion, noting, "Players are practicing with such dedication that they call themselves 'crazy guys,' sending shadow pitching videos in the dark the night before games." She also assured that player safety is paramount, with trainers accompanying team practices and team doctors available during games to minimize injury risks.

Regarding the 'Breakers' team chemistry, Producer Jung Yoon-ah expressed confidence, stating it stems from "camaraderie." Many retired players felt lonely working in various individual ventures, but they joined 'Strong Baseball' to feel the sense of 'togetherness' on the field, supporting each other to become a true one team.

The name 'Breakers' was chosen to signify "breaking through all ages and limitations and challenging ourselves," as explained by Producer Jung Yoon-ah. She also hinted at unique team celebration rituals fitting their new name.

The production team identified "change and new challenges" as the key viewing points for this season, promising that each game will feel as intense as a professional baseball tournament. They urged viewers to support 'Breakers' as they overcome age and pressure to aim for the championship title against amateur powerhouses.
