The program detailed the devastating downfall of Lee Mi-jin (pseudonym), a mother of two, whose life collapsed within just one year due to drug addiction. Her children, aged five and three, are currently being cared for by her mother, as Mi-jin has lost not only her ability to function in daily life but also her maternal instinct.
Mi-jin's mother expressed her sorrow, stating, "We tried hospital treatment four times, but she eventually gave up. Her entire daily life has crumbled, and all her thoughts revolve around the drugs."
Initially, Mi-jin, who was raising her children bravely, began to suffer from severe depression after the birth of her second child. Facing immense difficulties as a single parent, she turned to drugs as an escape. In an interview, she confessed, "Drugs became more important than my children. I wanted to feel that sensation just one more time, so I abandoned my children and went for drugs."
Lee Young-ae underscored the severity of drug addiction by stating in her narration, "Even maternal love lost its strength."
