Kim Go-eun Shares Insights on Chemistry with Kim Geon-woo in 'Twinkling Watermelon'

Actress Kim Go-eun discussed her on-screen chemistry with Kim Geon-woo, who plays Kim Sang-hak in the Netflix original drama 'Twinkling Watermelon'.

In a recent interview in Seoul, Kim Go-eun spoke about Kim Geon-woo's role as Kim Sang-hak in the series. 'Twinkling Watermelon' tells the story of two friends, Eun-jung (Kim Go-eun) and Sang-yeon (Park Ji-hyun), whose lives are intertwined over a long period.

Kim Sang-hak is a character who creates conflict between the two protagonists, leading some viewers to joke about the possibility of Eun-jung and Sang-yeon meeting without him. Kim Go-eun humorously responded, "Well, he is heterosexual..." and added that realistically, Kim Geon-woo's character seems like a "very stable type of person" with whom one could "live a healthy life."

Regarding their actual collaboration, Kim Go-eun mentioned that Kim Geon-woo is "two years younger than me in terms of university batch" and that they filmed in a fun atmosphere. She praised Kim Geon-woo's personality as very gentle and kind, stating that he was like a "broad-minded person" who accepted many of the jokes she and Park Ji-hyun played.

The two actors are indeed seniors and juniors from the Korea National University of Arts, School of Drama, showcasing a warm rapport. Kim Go-eun felt that Kim Geon-woo shared many similarities with the character of Sang-hak he portrayed.

Kim Go-eun debuted in the 2012 film 'A Muse,' garnering attention for her delicate acting skills. She has established herself as a 'trustworthy actress' by showcasing a wide acting spectrum in numerous projects. Recently, she has been expanding her artistic boundaries by taking on roles in theater productions.
