Stray Kids Make History with 8th Consecutive Billboard 200 No. 1 Album
Global K-pop sensations Stray Kids have etched their names in music history by achieving their eighth consecutive number one album on the Billboard 200 chart, a monumental feat not seen in 70 years.
According to Billboard's announcement on December 2nd (local time), the group's latest release, 'DO IT,' which dropped on November 21st, debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 for the chart dated December 6th. The album sold approximately 295,000 units in its first week in the United States, showcasing their immense popularity.
This latest achievement marks Stray Kids' eighth album in a row to top the prestigious chart. This ties them with legendary groups like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones for the third-most consecutive number ones by a group globally, and also matches U2's record. They have also set a new record for the most number one albums on the chart by a group in the 2000s.
In addition to the album's success, the title track 'DO IT' charted at number 68 on the Billboard Hot 100. Their previous full-length album, 'KARMA,' spent 14 consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200, peaking at number 35. Both 'KARMA' and 'DO IT' ranked as the 3rd and 4th best-selling pure albums in the US for 2025 respectively, highlighting their sustained appeal.
Through their agency JYP Entertainment, Stray Kids shared their gratitude. The members stated, "Achieving an 8-consecutive Billboard 200 number one and embarking on a world tour that circled the globe seven times would have been impossible without our fans, STAY," expressing their deep appreciation for their dedicated fanbase.
Fans are ecstatic, flooding social media with comments like 'Stray Kids is legendary! 8 in a row is insane!', 'So proud of our boys for breaking records!', and 'It's all thanks to STAY! We'll keep supporting you forever!'
