Popular singer Jang Yoon-jeong has calmly addressed the fake news spreading about her death.

On the 7th, Jang Yoon-jeong shared a post on her social media account, stating, “I’ve been getting a lot of calls… Please don’t worry. This isn’t a good photo or article, so I plan to delete it. Everyone stay healthy.” She also shared a photo along with the message.

The shared photo featured Jang Yoon-jeong’s face with the text, ‘Singer Jang Yoon-jeong has suddenly passed away at the age of 45.’

This image is part of a wave of ‘fake celebrity death news’ circulating on social media and YouTube. Jang Yoon-jeong posted her clarification after receiving numerous concerned calls from acquaintances.

In recent years, fake news about celebrity deaths has proliferated on YouTube, affecting numerous stars. Comedian Park Mi-sun, who will appear on tvN’s ‘You Quiz on the Block’ on the 12th after battling breast cancer, also fell victim to death rumors on a YouTube channel.

Korean netizens expressed relief and anger at the false reports. Many commented, 'I'm so glad to hear she's okay! It's heartbreaking that celebrities have to deal with such lies,' and 'These fake news channels are despicable. They should be punished severely.'
