
Ex-T-ara Hyomin Reveals Mother-in-Law is Author Lee Sook-jin; Netizens Awestruck!
Hyomin, a former member of the iconic K-pop group T-ara, recently shared glimpses of her relaxed Sunday, sparking a flurry of excitement as it was revealed that her mother-in-law is the renowned essayist Lee Sook-jin.
On March 23rd, Hyomin posted photos on her personal account with the caption, “A lazy Sunday in the study.” The images showcase Hyomin in her new home's study, holding a book and looking away. She further revealed several books, adding, “Sunday afternoon is with books written by my mother-in-law.”
The books Hyomin displayed included essay collections by Lee Sook-jin, such as ‘Sunflower’s Dream,’ ‘The Secret Garden,’ ‘Portrait of a Poor Day,’ and the Fall 2022 issue of ‘Essay World.’
Earlier in April, Hyomin tied the knot with her husband, an alumnus of Seoul National University’s Department of Industrial Engineering, at The Shilla Seoul. Her husband, 10 years her senior, is a financial professional and a key figure in the global private equity fund (PEF) industry.
Hyomin had previously described her husband, saying, “He’s not conventionally handsome, but he’s a man who looks wonderful in my eyes, and I’m getting married to him.” She also shared, “While preparing for the wedding, I’m once again realizing my gratitude for those who have cherished me all this time.”
Notably, the wedding dress Hyomin wore was a 2025 S/S Sarah Murad haute couture gown, one of only two in South Korea, which also garnered significant attention.
Hyomin debuted in 2009 with T-ara and achieved widespread popularity with numerous hit songs. She also ventured into acting, appearing in dramas like ‘My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho,’ ‘Gyebaek,’ and ‘The Thousandth Man,’ as well as films such as ‘Gisaengryeong’ and ‘Jinx!!!’
