The latest episode of the Genie TV original drama 'My Star, My Golden Child' (directed by Choi Young-hoon, written by Park Ji-ha) has sent shockwaves through the audience as the true identity of the protagonist, Bong Cheong-ja (played by Uhm Jung-hwa), was revealed to be former top star Im Se-ra.

The 7th episode, aired on the 8th, garnered significant attention, with viewership ratings reaching 3.4% nationwide and 3.1% in the Seoul metropolitan area, according to Nielsen Korea. The episode concluded with a compelling scene of Bong Cheong-ja fleeing from a mob of reporters alongside Dokgo Cheol (Song Seung-heon), hinting at a pivotal turning point with her comeback show.

Despite the unpredictable plot twists, including the appearance of Won Ban, the drama has been met with fervent responses. Bong Cheong-ja secured her entry into 'Twowon Entertainment' by demanding double the proposed contract fee and insisting that Dokgo Cheol be her manager. However, her comeback show faced a significant hurdle with the arrival of Go Hee-young (Lee El), who harbored resentment.

Go Hee-young orchestrated a plan to humiliate Bong Cheong-ja by casting her as a mere extra in an advertisement shoot, intending to exact revenge for past slights. Bong Cheong-ja, realizing Go Hee-young's scheme was a retaliation for her past defeat as Im Se-ra, vowed to fight back.

With Dokgo Cheol acting as her problem solver, Bong Cheong-ja navigated the legal and public relations challenges. A public apology staged by Dokgo Cheol forced Go Hee-young to back down. However, the joy was short-lived as Bong Cheong-ja's identity as Im Se-ra was exposed to the world. The drama ended with Bong Cheong-ja and Dokgo Cheol running hand-in-hand from the press, their smiles suggesting a new chapter awaits.
