Former Cats Member Kim Ji-hye Shares Update After Welcoming Twins: "Babies in NICU"
Kim Ji-hye, formerly of the group Cats, has provided an update on her and her newborn twins' condition following their recent birth, requesting prayers from her fans.
On the 11th, Kim Ji-hye posted on her social media account, stating, "I am doing okay, but both babies are in the NICU. They are having difficulty breathing and cannot drink milk, so they are receiving nutrition through IV drips. Please send many prayers for their recovery. Let's be strong, my twins. Mom is here." A photo accompanying the post showed the neonatal intensive care unit, highlighting her determination to be near her children despite her own recovery.
She further explained, "I haven't been able to reply to DMs from acquaintances and friends. I'm so preoccupied with the babies. I'll get my mental state back on track soon!" Kim Ji-hye also shared a photo of herself lying in a hospital bed, receiving an IV drip, a testament to the challenging postpartum period.
This comes after she visited the emergency room two weeks before her due date on the 1st, experiencing consistent contractions and unusual fetal movement, and her husband, Choi Sung-wook from the group Paran, announced on the 8th that she underwent an emergency C-section due to amniotic fluid rupture and bleeding.
Choi Sung-wook had previously shared on the 9th that the birth was successful but the twins were in the NICU. He also mentioned that Kim Ji-hye had mild early symptoms of preeclampsia due to high blood pressure post-delivery but was recovering well. He expressed immense gratitude and respect for his wife's strength throughout the difficult labor and delivery, especially after six years of infertility.
Kim Ji-hye debuted in 2002 as a member of the group Cats. She married musical actor Choi Sung-wook, a former member of the group Paran, in 2019. After four years of marriage, they joyfully announced their twin pregnancy achieved through in-vitro fertilization. Despite facing unexpected challenges during childbirth, she is demonstrating strong maternal resolve.
