Actors Son Ye-jin and Lee Byung-hun have boldly pledged a 'ten million viewer' promise for their upcoming film, 'Forget Me Not' (original title: 어쩔수가없다).

At an open talk event held on the outdoor stage of the Busan Cinema Center during the 30th Busan International Film Festival on the 18th, director Park Chan-wook and cast members Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon, Yum Hye-ran, and Lee Sung-min gathered to discuss their new project.

'Forget Me Not' tells the story of Man-soo (played by Lee Byung-hun), a company man content with his life until an unexpected layoff. He embarks on a personal battle for re-employment to protect his family and home, a narrative anticipated for its unique take on professional challenges.

Lee Byung-hun humorously commented on director Park Chan-wook's meticulous directing, stating, "Actors would lose sleep the night before shooting because of it." Lee Sung-min added with a laugh, "We were probably more nervous due to the director's esteemed name." Director Park playfully responded, "It's only natural to demand more from actors who are doing so well."

The chemistry between Lee Byung-hun and Son Ye-jin, who portray a married couple, was a highlight. Son Ye-jin shared, "Acting as a couple felt easy thanks to our natural closeness. It was amazing how we achieved perfect synergy without rehearsals." Lee Byung-hun echoed this sentiment, saying, "It didn't feel like our first time acting as a couple, probably because Son Ye-jin is a long-time friend of my wife and we often socialize."

The film also boasts a stellar cast including Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, Yum Hye-ran, and Cha Seung-won. Lee Sung-min and Yum Hye-ran portray a middle-aged couple, adding depth and intrigue to the ensemble.

When asked about box office expectations, Lee Byung-hun proposed a guerrilla-style stage greeting tour for a week if the film surpasses ten million viewers. Son Ye-jin found this promise too modest and countered with a daring pledge: "We'll all wear costumes and dance in crowded areas like Myeongdong or COEX!" This energetic proposal drew cheers from the audience. Yum Hye-ran enthusiastically joined in, promising to prepare a dress.

Anticipation is high to see if the cast's ambitious 'ten million viewer' promise for 'Forget Me Not' will come to fruition. The film is set to premiere on the 24th, while the Busan International Film Festival runs until the 26th.

Son Ye-jin made her acting debut in the 2001 drama 'Delicious Proposal' and has since captivated audiences with her versatile performances in dramas like 'Alone in Love,' 'Personal Taste,' 'Stranger,' and 'Thirty-Nine.' She garnered significant attention and congratulations for her marriage to fellow actor Hyun Bin in 2022. Recently, she announced her pregnancy, receiving blessings from many fans.
