Boxing Legend Manny Pacquiao Joins Netflix's 'Physical: Asia'

Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao, a legendary eight-division world champion, is set to join Netflix's hit survival competition series, 'Physical: Asia.' He will lead Team Philippines in the show's first-ever nation-vs.-nation edition.

Premiering this October, 'Physical: Asia' will pit 48 elite athletes from eight countries against each other, competing under their national flags. The participating nations include Korea, Japan, Thailand, Mongolia, Türkiye, Indonesia, Australia, and the Philippines.

Leading the charge for their respective countries are formidable figures. Korea's team will be headed by UFC veteran Kim Dong-hyun, known as 'Stun Gun.' Japan's squad is fronted by MMA legend Yushin Okami, while former UFC champion Robert Whittaker captains Australia.

Alongside Pacquiao, other team leaders include Muay Thai champion Superbon (Thailand), traditional wrestling star Erkhembayar Bayarsaikhan (Mongolia), Turkish oil wrestling champion Recep Kara, and Indonesian bodybuilder Igates Executioner.

Team Korea boasts an impressive roster featuring Olympic skeleton gold medalist Yun Sung-bin, ssireum champion Kim Min-jae, 'Physical: 100 Season 2' winner Amotti, and 'Physical: 100 Season 1' standout Jang Eun-sil.

'Physical: Asia' promises an intense display of strength, skill, and national pride, with athletes from diverse sporting backgrounds competing for ultimate supremacy. The show premieres globally on Netflix in October.

He is a national hero in the Philippines and has since transitioned into politics, expanding his influence beyond the sporting arena.
