Cha Tae-hyun Moved to Tears by 'For You' on 'Our Ballad'

The production presentation for SBS's new entertainment program 'Our Ballad' was held on the 23rd at the SBS headquarters in Mokdong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul.

Director Jeong Ik-seung, along with cast members Cha Tae-hyun, Jung Jae-hyung, Jeon Hyun-moo, Danny Koo, Crush, and Jung Seung-hwan, attended the event.

'Our Ballad' is a music audition program where contestants share ballads that marked significant moments in their lives, and these songs are reinterpreted by the voices of the younger generation. A panel of judges, including Jung Jae-hyung, Cha Tae-hyun, Choo Sung-hoon, Jeon Hyun-moo, Park Kyung-lim, Danny Koo, Crush, Jung Seung-hwan, and Oh My Girl's Mimi, will search for hidden gems among 150 participants.

A preview video revealed at the presentation featured 19-year-old Lee Ye-ji from Jeju singing 'For You.' She explained, "During my school days, one of the songs my father and I listened to repeatedly on our car rides to school was 'For You.'"

Lee Ye-ji's emotional performance captivated the judges, and Cha Tae-hyun was visibly moved to tears. When asked about his tears, he shared, "I was reminded of a father by the sea. That father was me."

Cha Tae-hyun commented, "It's a bit embarrassing that it was pre-released unintentionally, but the sincerity was there, and the tears just came out." He added, "I was worried the filming might be boring, but it wasn't at all, and the chemistry among the nine of us was great, which will be a source of enjoyment."

Meanwhile, SBS's 'Our Ballad' premieres on the 23rd at 9 PM.

Cha Tae-hyun is also active in various other variety shows, showcasing his friendly charm. His portrayal of paternal love in films like 'Scandal Makers' and 'Champion' left a deep impression on many viewers. As a father of two, he often expresses his affection for his children on broadcast, resonating with the audience.
