GIDLE's Yuqi Achieves Over 410,000 First-Week Sales with Solo Single 'Motivation'

Yuqi, a member of the K-pop group GIDLE, has solidified her position as a solo artist with impressive achievements from her debut single 'Motivation'.

According to Hanteo Chart, a major Korean music sales tracker, Yuqi's first single 'Motivation' sold 414,547 copies in its first week of release (initial sales). This remarkable feat propelled her to the number one spot on the music charts for the third week of September, underscoring the immense power of her global fanbase.

Following her success as a half-million seller with her mini-album 'YUQ1' last year, Yuqi has continued her upward trajectory with another high-selling release.

'Motivation' has also made waves on digital music charts. The album simultaneously topped the daily digital album bestseller charts on China's largest music platforms, QQ Music and Kugou Music, immediately after its release. Furthermore, the title track 'M.O.' secured the number one position on the real-time chart of the Korean music site Bugs.

Released on the 16th, the single features three tracks: the title song 'M.O.', 'I'm Sick', and its Chinese version '还痛吗' (Hai Tong Ma). Yuqi took on the roles of lyricist and composer for all songs, showcasing her expanded musical spectrum by exploring diverse genres from hip-hop to rock.

Meanwhile, GIDLE, the group Yuqi belongs to, reinforced their status as a global girl group by winning the grand prize at the '34th Seoul Music Awards' this year. Yuqi's concurrent success in both group and solo endeavors draws significant attention.
