Kim Gyu-ri, a well-known South Korean actress, has declared war on her online tormentors after expressing her feelings about the verdict in the 'Culture Blacklist' trial.

"A court ruling means that, based on this verdict, any posts that go against it can be legally prosecuted," Kim stated on the 10th. "I know that besides these individuals, many articles are being flooded with malicious comments. I will be brief. I suggest you delete them yourselves. Starting from one week from now, I plan to collect evidence and initiate a large-scale lawsuit. I am also informing you in advance that I have already captured the current evidence. After one week, there will be no mercy."

Previously, Kim Gyu-ri had shared her emotions regarding the court's decision, which marked the first time the state was ordered to compensate entertainers who suffered damages due to the 'Culture Blacklist'. "The verdict is finally confirmed. I can't believe how many years I suffered. I just want to stop struggling now," she said.

Kim Gyu-ri, along with 36 other figures including actors Moon Sung-keun and comedian Kim Mi-hwa, had filed a lawsuit in November 2017 seeking damages against former presidents Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye, former National Intelligence Service Director Won Sei-hoon, and the state. They argued that the former presidents, having been entrusted with power by the public, cut off the livelihoods of cultural and arts professionals simply for holding different political views.

The first trial ruled that former President Lee and former Director Won should jointly compensate the plaintiffs, but deemed the claim against the state as past the statute of limitations. However, the Seoul High Court ruled on the 17th of last month, "The state shall jointly pay 5 million KRW to each plaintiff, along with former President Lee and former Director Won."

Korean netizens reacted with a mix of support and caution. Many expressed solidarity with Kim Gyu-ri, stating, "Finally, justice is served! We support your decision to take legal action." Others advised, "Please be careful and take care of yourself throughout this process," acknowledging the emotional toll such a battle can take.
