G-Dragon Honors 'Hidden Heroes' at World Tour Stops, Launches PTSD Art Therapy Initiative
K-pop superstar G-Dragon has touched hearts by inviting 'hidden heroes' from various sectors of society to his world tour concerts.
Through his honorary chairmanship at the Justice Justice Foundation, G-Dragon extended invitations to firefighters, non-profit organization representatives, and victims of various hardships during his August shows in New York and Las Vegas, and his September concert in Los Angeles. Notably, New York City firefighters and their families were present at the New York stop, offering deep gratitude for their service in hazardous environments and for enduring the risks of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
This initiative is part of the foundation's upcoming 'Public Disaster PTSD Art Healing Project,' aiming to foster psychological recovery among uniformed personnel and their families through artistic expression. Collaborating with Good Neighbors USA, the foundation also invited social workers, educators, and disaster relief volunteers from across the United States.
Good Neighbors expressed their gratitude via social media, stating the experience served as "an opportunity to heal trauma and view life anew." G-Dragon's tour theme, 'Übermensch,' emphasizes overcoming personal limitations to achieve a higher state of being. The foundation echoed this sentiment, recognizing those who dedicate themselves to others amidst crises as "true Übermenschen of our time."
This outreach follows his previous gesture of inviting Paralympic athletes during his Asian tour, highlighting G-Dragon's expanding role beyond music to support and comfort vulnerable communities and dedicated individuals.
G-Dragon, a prominent figure in K-pop, is renowned for his innovative music and influential fashion sense. He first gained global fame as a member of the iconic group BIGBANG. Beyond his music career, he has also ventured into entrepreneurship with his fashion brand, PEACEMINUSONE.
