MBC’s entertainment program ‘Hang On’ is releasing the preliminary songs from its ‘80s Seoul Music Festival’ due to overwhelming viewer demand. On Saturday, the 13th, at 6 PM, the hit 80s tracks performed by the qualified contestants will be officially available on major music platforms, including Bugs.

This release comes as a direct response to the immense popularity of the ‘80s Seoul Music Festival,’ which successfully recreated the music and atmosphere of the 1980s. The production team aimed to maximize the retro feel by meticulously recreating the raw textures, spatial effects, and mixing techniques of analog equipment from that era.

The album features a diverse lineup of performances, including DinDin’s rendition of ‘Like Rain, Like Music,’ Liz from IVE’s ‘Love is Like Rain Outside My Window,’ Solar from MAMAMOO’s ‘To J,’ and Choi Jung-hoon from Jannabi’s ‘Don’t Leave Me.’ All profits generated from the sales of this album will be donated to charity, adding a meaningful layer to the release. ‘Hang On’ has consistently ranked as the top Saturday variety show, with its September 6th episode, featuring the final selection meeting, achieving a viewership rating of 6.7% in the Seoul metropolitan area. Meanwhile, the main recording, co-hosted by Yoo Jae-suk and 80s music icon Kim Hee-ae, has recently concluded. The upcoming ‘80s Seoul Music Festival’ eve broadcast on the 13th is also highly anticipated.

‘Hang On’ is a variety show hosted by Yoo Jae-suk that explores various expansion projects, bringing joy to viewers. The ‘80s Seoul Music Festival’ project has garnered significant attention for its revival of 1980s music and sentiment. The program airs every Saturday at 6:30 PM.
