TWICE's Chaeyoung Ignites Solo Career with 'LIL FANTASY vol.1' Album Release

Chaeyoung of the global sensation TWICE has officially stepped into the solo spotlight today, September 12th, with the launch of her debut full-length album, 'LIL FANTASY vol.1'. Leading the release is the vibrant title track, 'SHOOT (Firecracker)'. This marks Chaeyoung as the fourth member of TWICE to embark on a solo journey, following in the footsteps of Nayeon, Jihyo, and Tzuyu.

The album, 'LIL FANTASY vol.1', is described by Chaeyoung as a personal "little world" brimming with her unique tastes, thoughts, and identity. The inclusion of 'vol.1' in the title signifies her intention for this to be the beginning of an ongoing exploration of her artistry. The project features a diverse collection of 10 tracks, including collaborations with Japanese pop band Gliiico and artists SUMIN and Jibin from Y2K92.

Chaeyoung took creative control, not only writing, composing, and arranging the songs but also contributing significantly to the visual identity of the album, encouraging fans to "look closely at the details hidden throughout." She even directed sneak-peek clips for each song, aiming to capture the raw emotions behind the music. The title track, 'SHOOT (Firecracker)', was chosen for its energetic danceable rhythm and its message of ambition and shared celebration, encapsulated in the lyric "let’s set off fireworks together and enjoy this moment." The accompanying performance draws inspiration from jazz and the energetic disco of the 1980s and '90s.
